Best interceptor waste in Essex An interceptor waste is an underground chamber that mainly collects surface water, silt, grit, soil, and traces of oil, diesel, and other hydrocarbons that may leak from the surface. Interceptors or separators are designed to act as storage vessels to allow hydrocarbons to separate from the water and allow the water to discharge to the approved outfall under gravity. There are mainly two types of interceptors. They are known as bypass interceptors and full retention interceptors.
